As a T1 supplier for electronics, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann had the same architecture discussions around assistance functions – like vision-based safety – with several OEMs and came across the same question in each of those discussions: Do we have to build a completely new architecture for autonomous machines after solving assistance functions for the operators of man-driven machines? Therefore, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann would like to share its experiences about electronics and software architectures, vision-based functions for driving, machine safety, connectivity and secure-update mechanisms with the audience. These are presented with a clear emphasis on OEM view but also highlight considerations around retrofit.
