Elemental Motors introduces a new electric actuator that matches the speed and force of the same-sized hydraulic cylinder. The actuator is based on an Elemental Motors quantum flux motor that directly drives a screw. The actuator combines full servo control with integrated drive electronics based on GaNfets. The introductory actuator produces 2hp at 1,800 lb at 6.7"/second in a fully integrated package with a pin-to-pin 7.5" over the stroke length and 2-1/2" square section. Production actuator is 3.5hp, 2,700 lb at up to 8"/second. 2 large OEM programs are in progress.
