Room 2
NFPA - Advanced Hydraulics Conference - day 2
Addressing the challenges and opportunities for improving hydraulic system efficiencies within electric power take-off (ePTO) idle mitigation systems, starting with a brief overview of the business case for implementing an ePTO system. The discussion will then explore the current challenges faced by hydraulic systems in these applications and propose innovative solutions to maximize performance. These methods include software-controlled electronic load sensing with fixed displacement pumps, idle control techniques, speed-versus-torque motor controller (inverter) modes, and counterbalance valve technology comparisons.
- Mitigation utilizing ePTO’s benefits and challenges
- Software routines to reduce battery consumption for ePTO systems
- Counterbalance valve technology comparison to reduce parasitic losses while maintaining load control
