The patented Differential-Stroke cycle (D-cycle) has a piston crown section operated via a (valvetrain-like) piston-train to pump gases. This hybrid completes four strokes – different in displacements and durations – per revolution to retrofit existing two- or four-stroke cycle and the diesel or gasoline combustion engines to gain >2.5x more power (torque), >20% more efficient, cleaner exhaust like a gasoline engine or higher efficiency like a diesel than current engines. The piston-train can have different intake/exhaust ratios for higher torque or longer power strokes for better efficiency (Atkinson cycle). It can also shorten exhaust strokes to retain higher burnt gas to retard ignition and slow down combustion.
- Patented (valvetrain-like) piston-train making four variable strokes per revolution, a hybrid of two- or four-stroke cycle types, operated from crankshaft
- D-cycle hybrid gains 2.5~3 times more power and >20% efficiency than four-cycle, and cleaner than two-cycle, can retrofit existing gasoline and diesel engines cheaply
- D-cycle retrofit can reduce i4~v8 gasoline engines to i2~i4, or reduce diesel i6 to i4 and less, or gain >2x more pulling power for heavy truck loads
- Diesoline is a diesel/gasoline hybrid, with gasoline type input to diesel type combustion, retaining high exhaust gasses, to retard ignition/combustion
- D-cycle's Diesoline has diesel's power and efficiency with gasoline's clean and cheaper exhaust converter on slower and combustion to enhance heavy truck load
