James Oftelie received his BSME and MBA degrees from Iowa State University in 1996. After a successful navy career, he worked for 30 years in the civilian mobile fluid power industry, beginning at Sauer Sundstrand (today’s Danfoss Power Systems), ending at Komatsu Mining updating the hydraulic systems of the company's large mining wheel loaders for improved performance and efficiency. He created Aeration Measurement Technologies in 2025 to develop and utilize CorVera’s aeration measurement system for mobile hydraulics, using it to directly assist hydraulic system developers on a consultant basis.
