PhD Student, Maha Fluid Power Research Center
Nathan Featherstone is a PhD student at Maha Fluid Power Research Center at Purdue University. Nathan graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University where he developed skills in dynamic systems controls. For his master’s, Nathan simulated and tested a customizable-stiffness, piezoelectric-actuated member. Since joining Maha, Nathan has learned about hydraulic systems design both fundamentals and trends. He has developed the Closed-Circuit EHA through implementation and testing. Contributions involved the supervisory control of the EHA system and gathering and processing of experimental data for both the hydraulic pump/motor and the EHA system.
