Nathan Featherstone
PhD student,
Maha Fluid Power Research Center
Nathan is a PhD student in the Maha Fluid Power Research Center at Purdue University. He graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University, where he developed skills in dynamic systems controls. For his master’s, Nathan simulated and tested a customizable-stiffness, piezoelectric-actuated member. Since joining Maha, he has learned about hydraulic systems design fundamentals and trends. He has developed the closed-circuit EHA through implementation and testing. Contributions involved the supervisory control of the EHA system and gathering and processing of experimental data for the hydraulic pump/motor and the EHA system.
